This is one of my go-to spots for pizza in the city! They have something for everyone and their red sauce is absolutely delicious. They have indoor/outdoor seating and I love to sit on the patio in the summer. The staff is always helpful and provides their favorites if you are looking for a recommendation. The location is perfect if you are wanting to keep the evening going and walk somewhere nearby for a drink or desert.

Wow! Best Neapolitan pizza in the area! We stopped in on a Friday night and got seated right away. The restaurant is located in a charming, historic building right on the street car line. Both inside and outside seating areas. The menu offers antipasto, salad, and red or white pizza options. They carry a rotating drink selection which makes finding the perfect beer or wine a breeze. We tried the salad, supremo pizza, and The Goat and The Pig appetizer. All was the perfect amount of food for the two of us to enjoy. Our pizza came out within 10 minutes and was delicious. The brussel sprouts were delicious on the pizza. I highly suggest adding honey to your goat and the pig appetizer. It takes it to another level.

I remember this spot from nearly a decade ago bursting on the scene with the modern urban vibes and unique, authentic pizza. I was really, really hoping it still held up after all these years and am happy to report: it's fantastic! We took our girls here recently on a little KC exploration day; parents, you know the drill. Streetcar. Union Station. Lunch. Avoiding naps. Maybe some ice cream. When we walked in, it was silent, empty, and the guy bussing tables/running host seemed a bit stressed. Weary after several downhill experiences post-Covid, I started thinking this spot might've lost it's fastball. Turns out, everyone was just out on their side patio enjoying the beautiful day, and that's where we went as well to soak up the sun and the energy. We got some basics that tasted anything but basic; a margherita D.O.C. pizza (San Marzano tomatoes, mozzarella di bufala, basil, extra-virgin olive oil, sea salt) and a bianca white pizza (mozzarella, extra-virgin olive oil, garlic, basil, sea salt). Folks, this was the good stuff. The garlic popped from the white pizza and brought so much flavor. The kids were blown away by the bubbly, salty crust. It is truly one of those pizzas that you don't need to bog down with ingredients ... a real "less is more" situation. Already can't wait to go back, and honestly wish they'd expand a bit further south so we could go here more often.

I am constantly here now that I live in River Market. This is (maybe?) some of my favorite pizza in Kansas City. I love a pizza with a lot of charred flavor. If you don't like char marks on your pizza crust, this may not be the place for you. But if you love crispy burnt crust straight out of the pizza over with hot cheese and delicious toppings to balance out the char, you will love it as much as I do! They have a huge menu, and I haven't been disappointed with anything I've ordered. I recommend getting one red and one white pizza and share it with a friend! I hate a pizza that is floppy/soggy and isn't fully cooked under the toppings, and somehow Il Lazzarone pizza always stands up to the challenge! If you're doing carry out or an online order, proceed to the bar in the back! The only drawback of coming here is they always seem swamped and understaffed. Half the tables are always dirty, and it can take a long time to get your food because everything goes through the one pizza oven. If you do carry out, the estimated time is never right. You're always left waiting in the bar for a while. It's no fault to the great staff who are always helpful and kind! The parking situation is a struggle. There's paid angle parking on Delaware, and otherwise you'll have to hunt for street parking which can be a challenge on weekends. Leave early to find a spot. The restaurant is located pretty much immediately next to the River Market West streetcar stop!

I am giving this place 4 stars due to the overall experience! We walked in and were promptly sat and given water but then no one interacted with us for 15 minutes, like our waitress would walk by but not look at us until finally she came up and asked what we would like. This was odd because there were only like two other tables in use, and we could openly see she wasn't busy. She was nice when we did interact. The restaurant itself was open and clean. We liked seeing the brick oven That said, the pizza was brought us insanely quick and was so so fresh and exactly as described. I got the crepa and my husband got the pepperoni. We felt the pricing was solid for the portion. I got the limoncello cocktail and didn't care for it, it was too heavy.

Came here on a whim looking for late night pizza slice. No slices but they serve 12in/4 slice pizza. The front end was closed when we arrived at 1030 but the bar area was open. We sat there with the intention to get our pizza to go. We ordered glasses of wine which were soo full! We decided to stay and eat some of our pizza. We got the Margherita and formaggio. So good!!! The wine was also really good it was the nero, the last one on the red menu. The vibe was real nice as well. Good service.

We absolutely loved our experience at Il Lazzarone! Took a friend up on her recommendation, and so glad we did! Pizza was incredible, environment was wonderful, everything tasted amazing, and pizzas were cooked in a very reasonable amount of time. I learned they have a GLUTEN FREE crust if you ask for it! It's not on the menus though. (Why isn't it on the menus?? No idea!) However, just double check if you're really sensitive since all the pizzas are cooked in the same oven to my knowledge. The only recommendation we had was that the tomatoes on the burrata appetizer needed some seasoning. They were a little under ripe, and didn't even have salt on them. Salt, pepper, and olive oil would really lift those tomatoes up to complement the pesto and the rest of the wonderful dish! Thank you for a wonderful meal!!
